Sometime back in September there was an announcement from Apple and Niantic. This was about the popular Pokemon Go app making it's way to the Apple Watch before the end of the year. No news or updates have been released over this announcement ever since. So what's going on? Will the app still pair with Apple watches?
Rumors started spreading that Niantic had canceled the development of Pokemon Go for the watch. It is possible Niantic will one day return to this idea, but it will not be out by the end of this year. Some reports even say this feature was demonstrated on stage at Apple's event. It was still unfinished at the time, but still, something Niantic wanted to show off.
The App would have worked just like the Pokemon Go Plus. It is possible, with the plus being cheaper Niantic didn't feel much need to add it to Apple's watches. This probably isn't the reason for the halt in development but it is a theory.
