Do you eggs get full credit for distance walked?

Reddit user Jaynatale compiled data trying to find out which was better to hatch eggs. In the information listed below. Jaynatale found out that no matter what form of transportation, not all distance was calculated.  The best means of transportation for hatching eggs and walking your buddy Pokemon would be walking in a straight line.

Walking at 1.2 mph average:walking on a mostly straight path5km actual distance = 4.4 km tracked
walking on a curvy path with turns
5km actual distance = 4.1 km tracked
Jogging at 4mph averagejogging on a straight trail5km actual = 4.2km tracked
jogging on a curvy path with turns
5km actual distance = 4km tracked
Running 6mph average speedrunning on a straight path5km actual distance = 4 tracked
running on a curvy path with turns
5km actual distance = 3.7 tracked
Biking 9.4 mph average speedbiking on a straight path5km actual distance = 3.5km tracked*
biking on a curvy path with turns
5km actual distance = 3.3km tracked*
Driving (in car as a passenger, don't play and drive) 15mph average speedDriving on a mostly straight road5km actual distance = 3.3km tracked
Driving on a curvy road with turns
5km actual distance = 2.9km tracked

IN CONCLUSION The faster you go the less it tracks, the curvier the path the less it tracks.
Reddit user Gosieg proved a chart showing the data he collected. Though it doesn't say his means of getting around. His numbers are close to Jaynatale's. With an average speed of 1.2 miles per hour being the best speed to track distance. It looks like if you want to efficiently hatch your eggs, walking is the way to go.
