With the recent event, not only can we now hatch baby Pokemon from eggs. We can also find in the wild, a Pikachu wearing a Santa hat. You can find these Pikachu's from all sorts of things. They can be found in nests, random spawn, incenses, and even lures. But can we start with the festive Pikachu?
Sadly we cannot. The starter Pokemon all have a 100% catch rate so the one you choose doesn't flee. This means that the starting Pokemon have separate codes that allow them to be different encounters than from wild starters. Niantic only implemented the "custom" code to their wild Pikachu code.
How many festive Pikachu's do you have? I have 8 at the moment.
