Do Pokemon Nests Spawn Less At Night?

Many of us trainers either have school or work, so playing at night just seems to go hand to hand. Have you noticed a decrease in Pokemon spawning at night? Reddit user innercityyouf has, at least for known nests. I would have to agree with him, though. I live on a Pikachu nest, most of them only spawn during the day. Some nights I can even go without seeing a single Pikachu.

In Pokemon Gold and Silver, generation 2. There were Pokemon that would spawn more or less often with the given time. Could we be seeing this in the game already? It would make sense. Zubats are fairly rare around my rural home. At night, however, it seems like there is always at least a Zubat ready to be ignored.

Here are just a few Pokemon that may be seen more commonly at night if time plays a role in spawns:

  • Rattata
  • Weedle
  • Zubat
  • Ekans
  • Jigglypuff
  • Oddish
  • Meowth
  • Bellsprot
  • Volpix
  • Growlithe
  • Grimer
  • Venonat
  • Abra
  • Doduo
  • Ponyta
Don't expect to see all of these Pokemon around your area. There are also "mega" nests which I believe are just biome specific Pokemon. Around I live, within an hours worth of driving radius psychic Pokemon are really common. I see nothing but Drowzee, on occasion Abra's, and a possible few other rarer psychic spawns.

This could help us research rather or not time specific spawns are in the game or not. I believe it will be eventually if it isn't. Gold and Silver first introduced that feature and kept it for most other generations. It plays a huge role in the adventure and nostalgia of the game. It is very interesting to see what Pokemon you may encounter in the wild when traveling a route normally during the day.
