Pokemon Go Plus With An Annoying New Bug

Hello, everyone, I hope you all have a Merry Christmas! Enjoy what you get, and remember to stay grateful. A Reddit user by the username PatientlyWaitingfy ended up with a Pokemon Go Plus for Christmas. Those things sold out fast! One could only imagine his excitment.

There seems to be a bug going around with the Pokemon Go Plus at the moment. Have you witnessed it yet? After leaving the game up for so long with a locked screen, the game seems to be logging people out. This frustrating bug could leave trainers worried for their accounts use. It shows symptoms of an account being hacked or maybe even banned.

The game isn't logged out of if you leave your phone running. That kind of defeats the purpose of the useful watch, though, doesn't it? Pokemon Go plus is suppose to allow users to spin at stops and catch already obtained Pokemon without a phone.

After keeping your phone locked for around 10 minutes, this is when you can see the bug. So far it seems to only effect Andriod phones, which is most of the Pokemon Go community. Not to worry, though, if your phone doesn't have enough RAM then it will close apps to allow the phone to run smoothly.

Should Niantic Introduce Daily Rewards?

A feature not often talked about that could easily be including in the game could bring more meaning to logging on at least once. We already have "quests" in the game. First catch of the day increases experience and stardust gained. When hit spin at your first stop, you get an increased amount of items along with more experience. A daily reward feature could work in a few different manners.
Image result for daily rewards Pokemon
The easiest way Niantic could include a daily reward system is if they added button in the menu. Maybe even the shop somewhere around the defends shield. Once clicked you can have a chance of obtaining a single random item type. Depending on the rarity of the item, you have a chance of getting so many of that type. For a complete rundown, here are some of the items with the max amount you could possibly get each day.

  • Pokeball -10
  • Greatball -5
  • Ultraball -3
  • Potion -10
  • Super Potion -7
  • Hyper Potion -5
  • Max Potion -3
  • Revive -10
  • Max Revive -5
  • Incense -2
  • Lucky Egg -2
  • Lore Modul -2
  • One Use Incubator -1
The rare items will, of course, be harder to get on top of having a low payout rate. This would take place because if to many rewards are given out, there won't be much of a need for anyone to buy anything. The more days you return and collect your reward in a row, the more payout you will see. This could last up for seven days before restarting. On your 7th day, you would be able to receive 3 of the items listed above.

Image result for daily rewards
Another way this could work, it's a bit more complicated and even repetitive. Niantic could introduce a biweekly or monthly schedule for items to be handed out. Each day something different, and the more items or rare quality items will be rewarded. If you miss a day it won't really be a bit deal. In a biweekly setup here is another theorized setup.

  1. Pokeball x3
  2. Potion x3
  3. Revive x3
  4. Greatball x2
  5. Super Potion x2
  6. Ultraball x1
  7. Max Revive x1
  8. Max Potion x1
  9. Incense x1
  10. Pokeball x10
  11. Greatball x5
  12. Hyper Potion x5
  13. Ultraball x3
  14. (Changes) Lucky egg, Lore Module, One use Incubator x1
What do you think? Should something like this be entered into the game sometime in the future? With Pokestops being near impossible to get now unless you are literally walking past them. Or maybe the closest Pokestop you are near is 15 minutes away!... yes the closest stop near me is 15 minutes away. It is hard to get that daily spin without having to make an extra trip.

Please keep in mind, this is all theorized information. If Niantic does introduce this, the numbers and even items will be different. The reasoning behind adding the Lucky eggs, Lore Modules, and one-time use incubator was so players felt like they could earn just about everything in the shop.

A Work Around For The Sound Bug

A Reddit user by the alias Xnnnnnx may have found a way around the sound bug. Now You should be able to listen to music, while you watch the Pokestops as you go passed them. Remembering that you can't spin at stops past 20 miles and hour. If you still want to play the game and listen to music however. Here is how to do it.

It's actually a lot easier to do than one would figure. Select your music and have it on the volume you normally listen to it. Open up Pokemon Go. By now the app should have reduced your music volume. Unsure how this will effect Andriod users, I don't own an Android so I can't test it, though, it should work similarly.

Slide up from the bottom of your screen. If you get the menu to choose from a few different option just slide your finger to the left and you should see you mucic options. You should still be in Pokemon Go while doing all of this. Now for the moment of truth. Just pause your music and it should return to the volume of your liking.

So far reports only show this workaround working for Apple products. Other reports say you can unplug your headphones and plug them back in or just restart the music app. Pausing your music from within the game and playing it again seems to be a sure way of making it work. Other ways are a 50/50 chance. If for some reason the app reduces your sound again, simply repeat the process.

Not All North American States Can Get Their Regional Pokemon?

As many know, regional Pokemon can only be obtained in certain regions. Farfetched can be obtained from the Asian culture. Probably because their love for animated celery sticks. Mr. Mime is exclusive to Europe. This is probably because the large amount of mimes they have roaming the streets. Kangaskhan can only be found in Australia because it closely resembles kangaroos and their odd housing for the young. Last but not least, Tauros can only be caught in Northern America. Or at least most of Northern America.
Image result for pokemon go regional
There have been reports on Reddit that certain states can't actually catch a Tauros. Even though it is our regional Pokemon. In fact, parts of other states located in North America don't get a chance at these exclusive Pokemon. Other regions are in the same boat as it seem like regional Pokemon only spawn within a hidden box inside the game.
Image result for hawaii map
If you plan on vacationing to North America in hopes to get a Tauros. Hawaii wouldn't be your best choice. Reddit users have confirmed that Tauros is in fact unobtainable in Hawaii. Not to mention now would be a bad time to visit the states anyhow. The weather here is all messed up. One day it can be below zero and the next it can be 60 degrees.

Are you in a part of your region that can't catch it's exclusive Pokemon? Let us know, it would be very helpful for those willing to travel for their Regionals!

Is There Anything To Do At Level 40?

Have you ever wondered what the game would be like once you hit level 40? You can't level up anymore and more than likely you have already caught every Pokemon released up to date. It probably means that you also have all you battle Pokemon powered up and maxed out. So what can level 40 trainers do exactly other than gym battles?
Image result for Pokemon go complete medals
Well, there really isn't a whole lot of game play right now. The objective of the game is to catch'em all with a side of gym battles here and there. Once a player already completes their Pokedex, there isn't much need to hatch Pokemon anymore unless they still need the stardust. The only reason someone really needs stardust is if they plan on battling so they can get maxed out Pokemon. Rural trainers don't have much incentive to fight gyms because of the lack in gyms.
Image result for Pokemon go complete medals
So what is there to do after completing the Pokedex and maxing out all of your battle Pokemon? Medals could be completed, but after reaching that many levels it wouldn't be hard to say you wont have many more to complete. With second generation coming either before the end of the year or some time early next year. Level 40 players will have 100 new Pokemon to catch, train, and probably new medals to complete. After all of that is done, there isn't anything to do in the game again.
Image result for Pokemon go second gen
When dueling comes out, it's hard to say for sure, but hopefully this will allow for higher levels to enjoy their hard work. Battling should allow for rankings. If you loss a battle you loss ranking and fight others around where you are, and if you win you gain ranks. This will allow for more competitive fights and balance out the level difference between players.

Baby Pokemon Evolutions Got A Makeover!

Have you noticed that some of your Pokemon look different? You log into the game after a long days worth of work only to find your once beloved Clefairy a little less attractive. Don't worry, though, Clefairy isn't the only Pokemon that didn't cut Niantic's beauty expectations.

The Pokemon who failed Niantic's hard modeling standards were either too dark, or their lines weren't bold enough. Well, these Pokemon came back for a second interview with new looks! Their lines were more crisp, more color shading and even brighter colors in general.

All the Pokemon that had their pre-evolutions released ended up getting a makeover! Some aren't as noticeable. Others on the other hand, like Clefairy, have a fairly noticeable. Most seem to have only gotten a few darker lines and a slightly different color... "minor text fixes". It also seems that if all evolutions within the chain got a slight texture change.

The Clefairy in the picture above does look a lot better than once before. What do you think of the new model forms? Were they worth the minor text fixes?

Do Adult Pokemon Still Hatch?

With the recent event a few Pokemon had their baby forms introduced. The only way of getting one of these baby Pokemon is if you by chance hatch it from a 2, 5, or 10km egg. This left several questions. Can we still hatch these baby Pokemon's middle evolution?
Image result for POkemon go 2, 5, 10
Though without evidence it's hard to say for sure. If you hatch an egg you obtained before the event, these wont have any baby Pokemon and the chances of hatching an "adult" Pokemon are still fairly high. This is because it is believed that the baby Pokemon replaced their older forms inside the eggs.
Notice how the baby Pokemon candies don't correspond to the Pokemon names?
Image result for POkemon go candy
The easiest solution Niantic had when introducing these new cute Pokemon forms, is by just replacing the model in which hatched out of the egg. It wouldn't have been to hard to just create new codes and add a few more Pokemon to the egg lists, but it all comes down to evolved forms.
Image result for easy button
As many already know, you can't hatch an evolved Pokemon form. Why should Niantic start that with the baby Pokemon? This would have also created an imbalance of which Pokemon hatches. Say Pichu and Pikachu were both hatch-able from 2km eggs (I know Pikachu was 2km and Pichu is 5km). Out of all the creatures you can hatch from that egg group, you would have a higher chance of getting Pikachu candies than you would Magikarp.
Image result for POkemon go baby pokemon

Without hearing of others hatching the few evolved Pokemon forms, it is safe to say that they are no longer available to hatch from eggs. Niantic wants to keep the egg groups first form Pokemon only, which is good. It won't overwhelm players on what their chances are of getting the pesky little things they still need for their Pokedex.

Do Pokemon Nests Spawn Less At Night?

Many of us trainers either have school or work, so playing at night just seems to go hand to hand. Have you noticed a decrease in Pokemon spawning at night? Reddit user innercityyouf has, at least for known nests. I would have to agree with him, though. I live on a Pikachu nest, most of them only spawn during the day. Some nights I can even go without seeing a single Pikachu.

Image result for POkemon spawn night
In Pokemon Gold and Silver, generation 2. There were Pokemon that would spawn more or less often with the given time. Could we be seeing this in the game already? It would make sense. Zubats are fairly rare around my rural home. At night, however, it seems like there is always at least a Zubat ready to be ignored.

Here are just a few Pokemon that may be seen more commonly at night if time plays a role in spawns:

  • Rattata
  • Weedle
  • Zubat
  • Ekans
  • Jigglypuff
  • Oddish
  • Meowth
  • Bellsprot
  • Volpix
  • Growlithe
  • Grimer
  • Venonat
  • Abra
  • Doduo
  • Ponyta
Don't expect to see all of these Pokemon around your area. There are also "mega" nests which I believe are just biome specific Pokemon. Around I live, within an hours worth of driving radius psychic Pokemon are really common. I see nothing but Drowzee, on occasion Abra's, and a possible few other rarer psychic spawns.
Image result for POkemon go mega nest

Do you have a nest around you or you want to know what the closest nest is to your location? Check out https://thesilphroad.com/atlas#7/39.840/-74.916. If you have a Reddit account, sign up with The Silph Road to help them verify and mark nests!
Image result for pokemon go nest atlas silph road
This could help us research rather or not time specific spawns are in the game or not. I believe it will be eventually if it isn't. Gold and Silver first introduced that feature and kept it for most other generations. It plays a huge role in the adventure and nostalgia of the game. It is very interesting to see what Pokemon you may encounter in the wild when traveling a route normally during the day.

Can You Start With A Festive Pikachu?

With the recent event, not only can we now hatch baby Pokemon from eggs. We can also find in the wild, a Pikachu wearing a Santa hat. You can find these Pikachu's from all sorts of things. They can be found in nests, random spawn, incenses, and even lures. But can we start with the festive Pikachu?

Sadly we cannot. The starter Pokemon all have a 100% catch rate so the one you choose doesn't flee. This means that the starting Pokemon have separate codes that allow them to be different encounters than from wild starters. Niantic only implemented the "custom" code to their wild Pikachu code.

How many festive Pikachu's do you have? I have 8 at the moment.

Pokemon Go App For Apple Watches No Longer Happening?

Sometime back in September there was an announcement from Apple and Niantic. This was about the popular Pokemon Go app making it's way to the Apple Watch before the end of the year. No news or updates have been released over this announcement ever since. So what's going on? Will the app still pair with Apple watches?
Image result for pokemon go apple watch
Rumors started spreading that Niantic had canceled the development of Pokemon Go for the watch. It is possible Niantic will one day return to this idea, but it will not be out by the end of this year. Some reports even say this feature was demonstrated on stage at Apple's event. It was still unfinished at the time, but still, something Niantic wanted to show off.
Image result for pokemon go apple watch
The App would have worked just like the Pokemon Go Plus. It is possible, with the plus being cheaper Niantic didn't feel much need to add it to Apple's watches. This probably isn't the reason for the halt in development but it is a theory.

Pokemon Go Egg Hatching Bug

There have been reports by Reddit users not receiving the baby Pokemon they hatched. I've only seen such reports on baby Pokemon. The game will freeze after hatching an egg forcing a restart. After restarting the app they check their journals and see they obtained a baby Pokemon. It registers in the Pokedex still and still shows up under their journals, but nowhere to be found in storage.

Image result for Pokemon Go Caterpie

Has this bug happened to you? Well, I wouldn't email Niantic about it. The best thing you can do is report it as a bug. The chances of you receiving the "lost" Pokemon is slim. Emailing Niantic won't do you any good because they are probably busy responding to several other players, or just busy with the game in general. We all know Niantic isn't very responsive. They do listen to us... they do, but they can fix this issue faster if it's reported as a bug.

Do you eggs get full credit for distance walked?

Reddit user Jaynatale compiled data trying to find out which was better to hatch eggs. In the information listed below. Jaynatale found out that no matter what form of transportation, not all distance was calculated.  The best means of transportation for hatching eggs and walking your buddy Pokemon would be walking in a straight line.

Walking at 1.2 mph average:walking on a mostly straight path5km actual distance = 4.4 km tracked
walking on a curvy path with turns
5km actual distance = 4.1 km tracked
Jogging at 4mph averagejogging on a straight trail5km actual = 4.2km tracked
jogging on a curvy path with turns
5km actual distance = 4km tracked
Running 6mph average speedrunning on a straight path5km actual distance = 4 tracked
running on a curvy path with turns
5km actual distance = 3.7 tracked
Biking 9.4 mph average speedbiking on a straight path5km actual distance = 3.5km tracked*
biking on a curvy path with turns
5km actual distance = 3.3km tracked*
Driving (in car as a passenger, don't play and drive) 15mph average speedDriving on a mostly straight road5km actual distance = 3.3km tracked
Driving on a curvy road with turns
5km actual distance = 2.9km tracked

IN CONCLUSION The faster you go the less it tracks, the curvier the path the less it tracks.
Reddit user Gosieg proved a chart showing the data he collected. Though it doesn't say his means of getting around. His numbers are close to Jaynatale's. With an average speed of 1.2 miles per hour being the best speed to track distance. It looks like if you want to efficiently hatch your eggs, walking is the way to go.

Could These Pokemon Have Increased Spawn During the Christmas Event Too?!

Many are certain the baby Pokemon and festive Pikachu's aren't the Christmas event. Niantic Did mention there would be "events" before the end of the year. They released this information their conference with Sprint. Shortly after one event rolled out along with several new stops and gyms. So skepticism is to be expected.

Rumors spread around Snorlax should have an increased spawn rate throughout the "Christmas" event. What if Snorlax wasn't the only Pokemon due to increased, lurking around your house at night? Niantic more than likely would have thrown out some kind of spoiler or any kind of information by now. Right?

Take a close look at that squirtle totally checking out that trainer ;). Wait, that doesn't seem to fit with this article? Did anyone else notice that Snorlax in the background? All holly and jolly... You probably didn't realize the Pikachu using an electric attack to power up those Christmas light either. Don't worry though, this isn't a test to see how much you picked out of the new loading screen.
In the new loading screen, you can also see the world smallest Eevee. Maybe that's just because the cute little thing is cuddling up to Snorlax for warmth. It must be cold for the Pokemon too! There also happens to be a Clefairy and Squirtle in the new loading screen. And oh wait, possibly a Voltorb as well? No, forget that it's starting to look more like a Pokeball now.

Trainers, the Christmas event might also have increased spawns for not only Snorlax and Pikachu's. We will hopefully see more Clefairy's, Eevee's, and possibly even Squirtles! Honestly, Clefairy does seem to be a festive Pokemon, the others though maybe...

Pokemon Go Vibration Bug Theory

Have you ever opened the game, let it load, and feel vibrations, but no Pokemon show up? Thinking the game just wasn't rendering the Pokemon models, forcing you to restart the app in a huff. How about a rare Pokemon shows up on the near by. Each vibration leads to a common Rattata, or Pidgey, then it the game vibrates one last time. Spinning the screen left right and every which way, hoping it was that Chansey you saw on the near by. More than likely, this was the result of a bug everyone has experienced at least once.

Ironically, did you think about when the bug first started? Lets go back to when a famous rumor stated. Generation 2 Pokemon were suppose to be released on the 8th as part of the Starbucks sponsorship. Why weren't they added? Some say it's because the surprise was leaked, others say it was only speculation. Well, Sprint also wanted to sponsor Pokemon Go. What does that have anything to do with the bug though?
Image result for pokemon go starbucks

Well, we have seen before with the McDonald's sponsorship, Niantic also likes to hold an event. Since sprint came along, the pushed generation 2s release date back, or maybe the baby Pokemon were all the originally planned on releasing? Niantic could have combine the two events, making Starbucks wait a few days for there event.

Hold on just a moment though, why are players still getting random vibrations and why hasn't it been fixed yet? In programming, there is a proporty that allows for the programmer to hide and show controls. What if, when the update hit, Niantic forgot to take coding out? This could be the bug we are experiencing very well could be generation 2 Pokemon! If Johto was due the 8th and part of the update, Niantic probably set the vision to false, and forgetting other parts of the code. Kind of like the vibrations.

To back this theory up even more, did you know that if there is more than just a single trainer playing withing the same vicinity. All trainers will get the vibration bug at the same time, or experience the slight delay of spawning Pokemon?...

Pokemon Go Background Volume Bug

This bug has been around for some time, I noticed it when returning to the game from a month long heist. I would casually play the game on my way to work. After about a week or two of ignoring my music, and instead playing Pokemon Go. I decide it's time to start jamming out before another long day at work. I would listen to music for about 10 minutes before opening the game. Yes, the closest Pokestop is 10 minutes away from me...

When I opened the app while I was listening to music, I realized that the song I was listening to wasn't as loud. at first this was just pushed aside, thinking I might have turned the volume down. After seeing that wasn't the issue, I realized it was the game. This may not be an issue for those who don't normally listen to music on the device they use to play Pokemon Go. For those with long rides however, it could be a choice between music or the game depending on how loud you normally like your music.
Image result for pokemon music

It is a frustrating bug nonetheless. I would enjoy listening to music while I play games, and if it came down to life or death, I would probably choose music over the game. Honestly, with the changes Niantic keeps making to the game, it would almost be better to just listen to music if you are on the road. The only thing that seems to really count/work when going over 20 miles and hour, would be eggs. They only count though when you slow down or hit stops, other than that, the game is pointless to try and run in the background.

When I first started, I would much rather play the game. The game allowed me to see Pokemon I may not have while traveling back and forth to work. Now as we all know, not only does the nearby system go blank, but we can't spin at stops. The game still gives us the safety message " are you a passenger" when there really isn't much of a need for it anymore.

Prepare For The Christmas Event

Image result for pokemon christmas
Image result for pokemon christmas
The event going on now is disbelieved to be the Christmas Event. Why, though? Well, the double Pokestop items event was first believed to be the Thanksgiving event, or that there wouldn't be another event until Thanksgiving. It made since, and honestly, it was an enjoyable event. But Niantic proved us all wrong, Not only was there an event shortly after Halloween, but there was also a Thanksgiving event, shortly after the daily bonus event. This shows Niantic could care less about how often they through events out. There was even one for when Mcdonald's sponsored Pokemon Go. They increased the spawn rate of Pokemon... how many remember that? ;)

Image result for pokemon go mcdonalds promotionWith Niantic holding an event for their sponsorship with Mcdonald's why not do it with other sponsors? Well, they are. That is was this event is right now, it's both the Starbucks and Sprint event. We have new Pokemon like what the leaked email showed, only they didn't come out on the 8th. Sprint caught up with the Pokemon Go team and sponsored them. Holding off on the release of the new Pokemon only makes sense at this point. To clear things up a bit, this is more than likely NOT the Christmas event, it is only a sponsored event.

How can we get ready for the Christmas event then? Put aside around 10 or so dollars, you will more than likely need to buy incubators and lucky eggs. If you are one who doesn't spend money on the game, it's truthfully well worth it. If you still aren't keen on buying items from the app, you may just be a bit behind in preparing and getting the most out of the event.

Image result for pokemon go incubatorWhy this event should be the biggest event; it's a larger holiday, and though not celebrated by everyone, new year's is. A combination of two events in the same duration would make since. Kind of like catching two Pokemon with one Pokeball.

There is a theory about eggs getting reduced distances, which is why you will need incubators. I wouldn't buy anything from the shop for this event though until it's a for sure thing. Another theory about generation 2 coming out soon is still of course around, which it should be, there just isn't a release date. Eggs give an astounding amount of stardust. If Niantic does the Thanksgiving event plus the Halloween event with a few extra bonuses, we certainly want to take advantage of it while we can. Hatching eggs aren't only good for experience and stardust, but candies as well. Doubling everything you get from eggs except the Pokemon will be a pretty epic event.

Don't use a lucky egg for hatching, though, you will want to stock up on Pokemon before hand. That being said you will also need a good amount of Pokeballs if you aren't around a lot of stops. With the new transfer feature, transferring Pokemon is now a breeze. If we get double candies for transferring Pokemon like in the Halloween event, holding onto Pokemon now wouldn't be a bad idea. Even if you plan on mass evolving.

Still need to complete that Ice badge? Not to worry, the Christmas event will more than likely increase ice type, water type, and Christmas themed Pokemon. Pokemon you evolve count toward the typing badges, so any Slowpoke, Seel, or Shelder's you evolve, they will count for the badge. Focus on catching those Pokemon if you still need the badge for mass transfer/ evolving during the event.

What you need for this event:

  • Lucky Egg's
  • Pokemon Stock
  • Seel, Slowpoke, and Shellder's
  • Incubators
  • An easy way to hatch eggs/ walk buddy
Event Bonus Theories:

  • Legendary Pokemon release: Mewtwo, Moltras, Zapdos, and Articuno
  • Reduced distance to walk buddy and eggs
  • Double candy for catching, hatching, transferring, and evolving
  • Double experience
  • Double stardust
  • Increased Items from stops
  • Double catch rate from berries

How To Prepare For Generation 2

Along with new forms too exciting Pokemon, and the possibility of breeding being adding into the game. There are a few ways you can prepare for the coming of generation 2. Niantic has promised announcements on the 12 regarding "new" Pokemon. This could be about the legendaries, but it could also be about generation 2. Either way, there is some preparation that could help in the long run.

Saving candies to certain Pokemon will allow for players to already evolve some Johto region creatures. The amount of candies needed will more than likely be around 50 candies for Pokemon getting an evolution, 100 candies for Pokemon getting another evolution. Here is a list of the Pokemon that will get extra forms. "The 10 Pokemon That Will Have New Evolution In Second Generation".

A few Pokemon will have baby forms now. Generation 2 is when breeding and gender was introduced. Some of the Pokemon from Kanto will have baby forms that everyone can look forward to! This being said, I would save around four each of these Pokemon, just in case breeding comes out with or shortly after the new Pokemon a released.

  • Pikachu
  • Clefairy
  • Jigglypuff
  • Hitmonchan
  • Hitmonlee
  • Magmar
  • Jynx
  • Electrobuzz

Some of these Pokemon may be hard to find, so not only will it be hard to get 3-4 each, but candies will be sparse too. If the Christmas "Holiday" event has any kind of bonus for buddies I would recommend putting these Pokemon to the top of your list to walk. Pokemon you still need to complete generation 1 should still come before these.

  • Onix
  • Porygon
  • Chansey
  • Scyther
Since Niantic will be adding new Pokemon soon, many feel there should be a 50 slot increase to their Pokemon storage. There really should be, but just in case buying an extra Pokemon storage or two may not be a bad idea if you still have the 250 spaces started with. The last and most important is a nice full bag of Pokeballs. I wouldn't worry too much about battling for about a week or two after generation 2 has been released. That being said use up all of your potions and revives then get rid of what you get from spins.

Don't Use The New Transfer Feature Just Yet!

As we can all tell by now, the 8th didn't bring any new Pokemon. A little disappointing yes, but I suppose that's what happens when confidential information gets leaked. It is also possible that Niantic just wasn't ready. The reason why I say this. It seems like Niantic's servers are facing a bit of latency problems. When selecting the Pokedex or scrolling too fast in your Pokemon bag, not all of them will show up. Their servers would be crashing left and right if more Pokemon were introduced.

Along with the new update came a fairly necessary feature if you asked me. This feature allows for trainers to mass transfer Pokemon to professor Willow. For some, it may not be a bit deal. When you have hundreds of Pokemon just waiting to be transferred, only put off because of the invested time needed. A feature like this could be your new best friend.

I believe there is a reason why Niantic choose to put this feature in now. Thinking about it for a bit, when new mechanics are added to the game, any game in general. People love using it when it firsts arrives. Sometimes developers do this for a reason, knowing of these statistics. We all know there should be an event starting here within a week or two. So why would Niantic release a patch with such a feature?

It has been heavily theorized that with the Holiday event, it will be very similar to the Halloween event. This means we can expect increased spawn for ice and possibly water type Pokemon, decreased distance needed for buddy candy, and that's right... double candy. There has been "rumor" of other event bonuses but I'm going to focus on the double candy bonus for now.

Typically when updates as such, they hint towards future mechanics to expect. I have seen "game changing" updates and patches in every game I've ever played. With all of this being said, though not confirmed, I believe Niantic added this feature to force inexperienced and unsuspecting trainers to use the feature before the release of the event.

Yes, you can use it if you would like, but for those who are so close yet so far from completing the Pokedex. I would highly recommend you save Pokemon. At least the ones you are still trying to get the tedious last candies for. It's not going to hurt anyone to save Pokemon. Possible New Features Following the Release of the New Pokemon

Here is a list of a few new feature added into generation 2.

  • Time specific Pokemon/ Happiness levels
  • Shiny Pokemon
  • Breeding/ Gender
  • Berry "trees"/ Held Items
  • Gifting/ Friend system
  • Roaming Legendaries
Some of these features have already been confirmed or talked about by Niantic, like breeding. Others, on the other hand, aren't confirmed and really haven't been covered, so here I am to go over possible features we may see following generation 2. Keep in mind there are other mechanics that were added after, the Johto region, like Pokemon abilities, which I will cover those another day.

Widely known mechanics to look forward to are, breeding and shiny Pokemon. To start things off, a shiny Pokemon is a slightly altered color of its original species. The most iconic shiny Pokemon is the red Gyarados, it's original color is blue. Finding these off colored Pokemon though isn't as easy as it may sound; they are a rarer version of a Pokemon. This feature will allow players to fill out the Pokedex with normal and shiny Pokemon forms.

Breeding allowed for a female Pokemon and Male Pokemon too, well in simple terms, mate. In order for a feature like this to work, genders would have to be introduced into Pokemon GO first. How such an act will work without a daycare center, I'm not sure, to be honest, but it is widely believed to be seen in the future of the games life cycle. Breeding will affect players by an egg being given to them without having to hit a Pokestop. Bred eggs I suspect to work differently than eggs rewarded from Pokestops.

This, a very unlikely feature, but something to question, berries and berry trees were implemented into the game in generation 2. In terms of Pokemon go, I'm not sure how something like these would work, or what different types of berries could be put in the game, so let's go ahead and combine berries and held items.

Like trading, the dueling system is supposed to reach the game live at some point. The dueling system would add a whole new style of battle with your Pokemon, with held items and berries could enhance the battling system even more. How so? The berries in the Nintendo games have healing properties, they can cure debuffs like paralysis and sleeping Pokemon. Other berries could heal a certain amount of hit points. If the "held item" feature gets infused with the coding, then I could see a larger variety of berries, held by Pokemon to use in battles.

The other features may be a bit harder to put into the game, the happiness level used for some of Johto Pokemon's evolution I don't see being put into the game because evolution stones weren't put in for generation 1. I do see them including the time specific Pokemon. What I mean by this is, in the morning you may have more of a Pokemon spawn, and same thing for afternoon and night. If this is added then we can expect Espeon and Umbreon spawning more in their time frames. If you evolve an Eevee within one of the time frames; morning you would get Espeon, and at night you would get Ubreon, this would probably only be a chance so trainers still have a chance of getting Jolteon, Vaporeon, and Flareon.

Without legendaries being in the game right now, it's going to be hard to determine what Niantic plans for the release of the first roaming legendaries; Entei, Suicune, and Raikou. An event for these legendaries and other roaming legendary Pokemon could include something like regional Pokemon, or like the Japanese Lapras event. This would give the effect of them "roaming".

Everyone enjoys being given gifts, and not so much, giving gifts. A feature allowing players to gift friends items could make its way into the game. First, of course, there will need a be a friends system. The friend system might work like the system in second generation, allowing the protagonist to add numbers of trainers (s)he comes across. I know I've had to delete Pokeballs I would have rather given away. If this feature is added, it could allow trainers to help each other out even more!
